From Launch and Vehicle Support to Ground Based Missile defense, Vigor (formerly Oregon Iron Works) plays a vital roll in America’s Aerospace Industry.
Space Launch Complexes
In 1987, Oregon Iron Works began fabrication for the demanding launch complex industry, with a vision of becoming the leading supplier of Mobile Service Tower (MST) Vehicle Access Platforms. It subsequently expanded its vision to include complete Turnkey Ground Support Systems, Precision Fixtures, Handling Equipment, and existing facility hardware maintenance and service. Its hardware is currently being utilized at premier launch facilities on major ranges throughout the United States.
Now as Vigor, the Aerospace group continues to implement a “systems approach” to manufacturing and shop testing for the function and performance of our hardware prior to shipment and installation on site. Our systems are being utilized at launch facilities on major ranges throughout the United States and have a proven track record of reliability and performance that successfully supports our customer’s most critical missions. Early in development, we utilize solid modeling technology to identify outfitting and design interferences before production phases begin. All fabricated hardware, controls, and actuation systems are then assembled complete into shop fixtures that simulate field conditions and are pre-tuned as a system for optimum turnkey performance and reduced installation costs in the field. Vigor is partnered with a diverse group of industry leaders to provide our customers a single source for all of their Launch Complex needs.
Ground Missile Defense
From prototype development through production, including in-house electrical/mechanical integration for all hardware, we have been the primary supplier for the Ground Based Missile Defense Program (GMD) since 1998. Components include Silos, Silo Interface Vaults (SIV) and Silo Closure Mechanisms (SCM).
